Construction of the 77,000-square-foot store on U.S. Highway 98
at West Hewett Road was completed May 9. It will open June 15.
Hours will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The South Walton WalMart store will not have an outdoor garden center,
tire shop or vision center but it will have
groceries and everyday household needs.
This Saturday, May 21, the South Walton Chapter of the Coastal Conservation
Association will sponsor their Fifth Annual Kid’s Fishing
Tournament at Grayton Beach.
The event begins at 8 a.m. on the back porch of the Red Bar and ends
at noon, followed by a brief award ceremony for the
winners of each division.
Awards will be given to the winners of each of the following divisions:
Boys: 5 to 9 years, 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years
Girls: 5 to 9 years, 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years
All participants should be accompanied by an adult and Florida Recreational
Saltwater Fishing Regulations shall apply.
All fish must be alive at weigh-in. The heaviest fish weighed
will determine the leader in each age group.
The Coastal Conservation Association of Florida has been sponsoring this child-oriented fishing event for five years in cooperation with the Red Bar, Yellowfin Ocean Sports, Fish Florida, Ferguson Waterworks and many other local businesses. The community event regularly attracts around 150 participants, not to mention another 100 or so parents,
grandparent and guardians.
Featuring fine art, live music, interactive public art projects,
kids activities, art demonstrations, jewelry, knick knacks etc.
130 international artists’ booths filling Central Square and the Lyceum
showcasing their works in glass, metal, mixed media, sculpture and more
than a dozen other media. Sounds interesting, huh?? *squeals*
